Here’s a quick one both to read and to do.
I have spoken before about the benefits of getting exposure to morning light Night and Day. Well, for the days when a morning walk is not possible and time is short, here is a quick and effective alternative.
On waking, BEFORE, looking at any phone or screen or putting in contact lenses or glasses, go to the window, open it, and look at the sky. Your eyes may take a few seconds to adjust. Keep looking at the sky (even if it’s cloudy) for at least 30 seconds. Then start switching your focus from near to distant every couple of seconds. This way, you are exposing your eyes to natural light which will help set your circadian rhythm, AND you are strengthening your eyes.
You can repeat this at any time of the day. It takes just a minute.
Wishing you all health and happiness,
Dr. Maria
